This *actually* happened in ontario, canada. i want to know your thoughts.? - motorcycle helmets canada

Ontario has strictly applied the law, you must wear a helmet while driving a motorcycle. There are over 3 years, a Sikh (a religion where people are obliged to wear a turban) has decided to his motorcycle to drive without a helmet. When the police shot him, he said he was not allowed to wear a helmet over his turban. Now go to court and fight against this bill from $ 110.

Do you think, should wear a helmet and obey the laws of Ontario, in spite of their religious beliefs. or think he has the right to practice all aspects of their religion?
What do you think?

This is unfortunate but true that if you decide to emigrate to another country, you need to know that compromise is part of the business.

In some cultures as "honor killings, female genital mutilation and" religious "rituals. But when we migrated these practices are not allowed ..... they have to follow the same rules that s' for the company to which they moved.

The gentleman in question has options you can choose to obey the traffic rules of their new home - or if you do not like the laws and do not obey, they may limit the consequences of which are accepted by law without regard to - or in their home . Return

Then you can the laws of its place in vivo must obey, but at least for wearing a Turbon it does not hurt but themselves and maybe the police should simply ignore this

There should be a helmet. His own for their safety. If there is a helmet over his turban, he thinks it should be possible to be fit, his head will always be protected. It could use a thinner material, but it's actually more of his skull.
But if not, then I think we should just take it and put it in a bag, while on his bicycle, then back down. I think the really religious, but I think in these circumstances for their own safety, do not let go and wear a helmet or a turban. If you can not be seen without her, he could always go to the bathroom or get something from the wheel and the body.

This is a security problem, but if you must wear a helmet, I think his stupidity in the country m, where the girls were not in trouble for wearing the veil (really, what they are called) to school as a party no school uniform. I think schools should they finally agreed that in the school colors are good, but not ban them completely allowed.

Read your problem: Do not ride a motorcycle so * if not * wear a helmet.

In the U.S. you can not mix religion and state. Had they make the laws for the prevention of many types of religion, there are many people who say that religion because of this act, then I say no laws of the law. I suspect that applies to Canada. I agree, even if their religion allows him to cover his turban, and religion, and thus prevents a motorcycle.

Ok Firstly you can not wear a helmet because it is against their religion, but because they simply do not because of his huge turban.
And yes, I think it should be in prison ... this guy broke the law. He deserves to be in prison like all the other people who violate the law. this guy should not be a motorcycle, or at least not under a mounted bought, if you know it is a law to wear a helmet while driving a motorcycle.

Safety first ... Wearing a helmet. Is not God understands and wants to be so sure? What kind of God wants you to die for violating a dress code for security?

I agree with Choq --
If he was not willing to wear a helmet, be it for religious reasons or not, then there should be a motorcycle or bicycle. He should accept that some things come at a price (for example, if you really want a good Sikh, then you should recognize that there are activities that may require something to lose and it. Take a bus not so impressive that riding a Harley, but should not endanger the law, at least) because of their faith.
If they in a serious accident, would be sufficient time and resources exploitation, may not have decided to wear a helmet or use other means of transport. Of course, even if you can not have hurt in this situation, it would be wasting resources to other urgent need.
In my opinion, should be, punished in prison or a fine.

I just read this morning. I personally believe if you can respect no international law, not be driving a motorcycle. Simple as that.

I think we should allow them to wear a turban, is the best choice, if she is concerned for his safety. Do not think, particularly in certain laws that the government is that worried about you more than you, but it is a right, what can be done.
Maybe I should not the bike at all.
I mean, people expect certain freedoms, such as a motorcycle, but do not want to obey what comes with it.

Sikhs wear a turban because she cut her hair with a razor blade, not so much that she can wear a helmet. It is for your own safety, though, so there should be no exception.

It's like the headscarf debate in France. Properly for the children to be able to learn without taking the trouble to integrate a veil of illusion from Split. Plus France is to be secular.

Ontario has to decide whether people should follow the laws of Canada or Sikhs.
